Proposed new Pit

This is an old existing pit for which the company must start the application process from scratch as the permit was not passed on through the real estate sale. Unfortunately this pit sits right on top of aquifer and borders Hoyt Brook. As a reminder, an aquifer is:

When a water-bearing rock readily transmits water to wells and springs, it is called an aquifer. Wells can be drilled into the aquifers and water can be pumped out. Precipitation eventually adds water (recharge) into the porous rock of the aquifer.Oct 16, 2019

As readily as an aquifer transmits water to wells and springs, it also readily transmits diesel spills, gasoline spills, anti freeze spills, hydraulic fluid spills, etc.
